About Us
A Brief History
Fairlee Community Arts is an organization established to cultivate, promote ,and present community activities and events, concerts, and shows.
The seed of the organization was planted at the beginning of 2017 when a couple of Fairlee residents decided to organize a summer concert series on the town common. Right from the start, the response from the community was positive and concerts on the common became a popular Tuesday night event. Building on the success of the summer concerts, a group of interested community members met several times beginning in November of 2017 to discuss the creation of a local arts council to carry on the concerts and expand programming. The result was the formation of Fairlee Community Arts, Inc., which officially registered as a Vermont non-profit corporation on December 2, 2017.
Thanks to the continued generosity of local businesses, foundations, and individuals, Fairlee Community Arts was able to continue its popular summer concert series and - with the re-opening of the town hall auditorium - began presenting programs throughout the year. Fairlee Community Arts subsequently completed successful capital campaigns for major improvements to the town hall’s auditorium, outfitting the space with sound, projection, and lighting systems, making the space a versatile, multipurpose community facility.
FCA constantly strives to present varied programming that entertains, educates, and enlightens.
