Art in the Underpass painting events
In May students at Samuel Morey Elementary School worked with Middlebury artist Matt Heywood to cut out leaf shapes from mural cloth that will be painted and applied to the walls of the I-91 underpass to form two beautiful murals. See the plan.
Each leaf was numbered and students will be able to pick out the leaf they worked on once it is glued in place.
On July 11 Matt Heywood, artist, set up a display on the Common during the FCA concert. In subsequent days, volunteers painted the mural elements on the Town Hall auditorium stage.
