In March 2021 Fairlee Community Arts, with help from community members, applied for and was awarded an Animating Infrastructure Grant from the Vermont Arts Council. The award of $15000 will be used to commission artwork in the I-91 underpass.

FCA developed a Request for Qualifications or RFQ which was advertised and sent out to artists. From those responses a Review Committee chose finalists who will develop a full proposal.

We have had visits from our finalists this past week of September 13. Finalists toured Town Hall and met with folks there, learned a bit about Fairlee history and had a walking tour of town and a drive around the lake. We also shared with them suggestions gathered from the community over the summer.

The finalists will now develop full proposals for the artwork, those are due November 15th.
